The state of Veracruz has so much whitewater it would take a year to explore it all.
offers difficult class 5 kayaking, beautiful and scenic class 2 Stand Up Paddling as well as gorgeous beaches on the Costa Esmeralda.
If you enjoy the finer things in life. The gastronomy of Veracruz is second to none, from Shrimp cocktails, Chipotle fish to Tlacoyos you will fall in love with this extraordinary cuisine!

This season we will be spending 3 weeks in Veracruz!

Week 2 in Veracruz will be spent preparing for the Alseseca Race. If you have been paddling class 4 with confidence, and want to step it up, the Alseseca is the perfect place.
No undercuts, no sieves just big holes and lots of GRADIENT!
This race is great preparation for the Green race! There are 2 options for the race: The short course, which stops before the class 5 S-Turn.

The Long course which takes you through the S-Turn and to the final drop Typewriter.

Big Banana is also a great choice for some incredible class 4-5 creeking. A short run with lots of gradient
down to the Cascada Tomata, this is also a perfect run for practicing techniques needed in the race!
With rapids like "Meatlocker" and "End of Silence" Big Banana is a world class run!
We will also take on the Alto Filo down to Pimienta bridge. This section is boulder choked class 4-5 creeking at its best.
This week will also be spent with Aventurec.

Jalco is famous for the Pescados and Anitgua River sections. This riverside town offers excellent local food and easy access to the river Pescados.

The Pescados is a class 3-4 run that ends in downtown Jalco. It is very similar to the Ocoee river in Tennessee.
30 Minutes away you will find the Hot springs of Carrizal with their hot water slide in the form of a dragon!
Beyond carrizal is the crystal clear Rio Actopan.

This river gushes from the side of a cliff and is pure enough to
drink! the Actopan has class 2 rapids, some more than a mile long!

This week of rivers will be for intermediate kayakers and beginner through advanced SUP paddlers.

For SUP we will be practicing downriver awareness and learning to keep up with your board.

For kayaks we will concentrate on more technical moves in whitewater. Making easy rapids more difficult.
Logistics for these 3 trips will be into the airports of either Jalapa or Mexico City. From Mexico city go by bus to Tlapacoyan. From Jalapa by bus to Tlapacoyan as well. Week 3 you will return by bus from Jalapa to Mexico City.
