Kayak Huasteca

Ciudad Valles is located in the state of San Luis Potosi, Mexico.  With a population of about 106,000 "Valles" is located about 7 hours south of Brownsville, Texas, and two hours west of Tampico, Mexico.  For directions,  click here.

This part of Mexico is not only perfect for kayaking, but it is a great place to see and do a multitude of activities, from adventurous to educational.   

Aventura Huasteca is an adventure travel company that operates out of downtown Valles, along the main street Blvd. Mexico-Laredo.  Along with this company, we can offer you some of the following options:

• Rafting Tampaon River.  This river is a Class III+ that runs all year long.  Known for its beautiful turquois waters and narrow canyon vistas, these rapids are appropriate for children ages 10 and over.  You also have the option of riding in pangas, or wooden canoes, upstream from the rafting put in, to check out Tamul Falls.   

• Rafting Micos River.  The lower section of the Micos river, starting from the riverside park of Pago Pago and on downstream, is best run July thru December for rafters.  Class II/III depending on the water levels, this is a great river with fun waves and rapids.  Tall grasses andSpanish-moss covered trees line the banks, full of flocks of birds.  You can also choose to take Duckies (inflatable kayaks) down the Micos river!!!

• Jumping Micos Cascades.  These jumps are great, as long as water levels aren't too high or too low.  Winter-time is the most fun for jumping the seven cascades, ranging from 3 to 30 feet!!!  As long as you can swim, and we have a life jacket that fits, you can do this activity!!! 
  

• Rappel Minas Viejas.

• Rappel Tamul Falls.
  

The Ranch is located about 45 minutes of town, on the river left side of the Micos River.  Here you can find comfortable accomadations, and many activities to spend the entire day and night. 

•  Tirolesa or Zip Lines.   Four zips across the river and one long tree top bridge, this course gives enjoyable views and just enough zip! 
  

• Temascal.  Native sweet lodge, steam over hot lava rocks combined with soothing herbs ensures a relaxing time for sore muscles. 
  

• Swimming Pool.  Relax pool side or practice a kayaking roll, this water comes straight from the river! 
  

• Duckies/Inflatable Kayaks.

• Gotcha or Paintball.  Play it in the Mango fields!!!

• Camping. 
  

• Mountain biking.
