Kayak Courses
Kayak Huasteca specializes in Beginner through Intermediate courses. We have access to one of the most beginner friendly rivers in the world. You can learn how to roll in the warm waters and run waterfalls your first time in a kayak. All courses are taught to the highest standards, with an emphasis on safety.
Kayaking Basics
This course is for the first time kayaker or anyone who might be out of practice. We start with wet exits and progress through stroke practice in flat water. We will run the waterfalls of Micos depending on the time of year. January through April are ideal months for this class.
Courses available upon request!Intermediate Kayaking
The intermediate course steps into the world of currents and moving water. Eddy turns, peel-outs and ferries will be taught. The eskimo roll will also be discussed and the waterfalls of Micos will be waiting.
The Roll
This class can be custom tailored depending on skill levels. For beginners, we teach the sweep roll; a strong, reliable technique for rolling your kayak. We also teach : Hand rolls, Back-deck (rodeo) roll, and help with learning an intuitive roll. The more roll you have in your arsenal, the more confident you will feel in whitewater!

Creeking and River Running Clinics.
The creeking clinic is for those who want to learn to run waterfalls. We have one of the highest concentrations of runnable waterfalls in North America. Three different runs within 1 hour of the hotel. Each run is significantly different from the other. The course will cover boof techniques, how to run waterfalls, how to read waterfall hydraulics, rescue from behind the curtain and some waterfall freestyle moves.
We customize dates for groups of 4 or more.
River running in the Huasteca is diverse and challenging. There will be waterfalls and some very nice class IV rapids. The RR course is held on 4 different rivers, we will experience everything from Big water to tight rapids with sticky holes.
