  • Sample Trip Itinerary - Class 3/4 Boaters

    Day 1-  Arrive in Tampico airport.  One of our guides/instructors will meet you at the airport and drive you to Ciudad Valles, approximately two hours west.  Settle into hotel.  Dinner and prepare for a week of kayaking!

    Day 2-  Breakfast and outfit boats, depending on whether or not your brought your own! A short 20 minute drive out of town will find us at the put in for Micos!  Run the beautiful cascade section once or twice.    Enjoy gorditas at the overlook before heading back to Valles for siesta.  Explore downtown Valles.  

    Day 3-  Today we head to the fifth canyon of the Rio Santa Maria, called Tampaon.  After breakfast, it is about an hour drive to the put in.  Warm up on some Class II rapids before entering the canyon.  Be ready for fun Class III/IV rapids and breathtaking scenery. 

    Day 4-  A longer drive west will lead us to El Salto.  These waterfalls are like Micos cascadas on steroids.  Takeout before El Meco and enjoy the views with a celebratory cerveza.  Drive home thru Mante, stopping for sea food and mango pie.  

    Day 5-  Another day on Micos!  Put in at the cascades and continue on downstream through some playful rapids and surf spots.  Take out at the ranch, where we can relax pool side and enjoy some local fare.  Have fun on the tree top Tirolesa, or zip line course.  Relax after dark in the Tamascal, or sweat lodge.  

    Day 6-  Drive out toward Tamul Falls.  In the morning paddle the Gallinas river above the falls.  After lunch, walk to the falls, and rapel down among the spray 300 feet!  That night, relax at the sulfer hot springs outside of Valles.  

    Day 7-  Visit Tamtoc ruins in the early morning. Then drive into Tampico for a day on the beach.  Enjoy the waves and surf it up!!! 

    Day 8-  Depart Tampico Int'l Airport 

     

    *This is only a sample itenerary.  Actual activities will depend on the water level and group abilities.  This is a sample for Class III/IV boaters. 

     

  • Playboating Trips

    Day 1- Arrive Tampico for a day of ocean surf.

    Day 2- Playboating on the lower Micos.  Hole and wave surfing techniques.

    Day 3- Waterfalls of the Micos, new technique for doing loops out of the waterfall landing zone.  More play on lower micos.

    Day 4- Rio Moctezuma, big water surfing between 5 and 10 thousand CFS. Big waves, holes and down river moves.

    Day 5- Rio Tampaon.  Catch on the fly waves as well as more downriver tricks.
